Well Then For this is like the days of Noah to Me, when I swore that the waters of Noah would not flood the earth again; so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you nor will I rebuke you. For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken, says the LORD who has compassion on you. -Isaiah 54:9-10 Change is constant, and it is silly to think that what is will always be as it is. Eb and flow; eb and flow - what keeps you alive as you go? I have deep love flowing in and out of me. The ground I am standing on is shifting sand or wavy water, but my center is still in tact. The love I sense from the living God is deep. Sitting in the presence of Greg and Scott and Jan (pronounced "Yon"), I sensed my youth and foolishness. I sensed the deep love of God flowing from Greg. His laughter was sincere and from a rich source and holy history. He told stories about his walk with God. They were quite convicting and beautiful. An illustration he gave about being connected to God as with a rubberband was particularly graphic. As we pull away from God, we are still connected. The further we stretch the band, the greater the impact will be when we are finally snapped back to God (he slapped his hands together here and said: WHAM!). And who do you think is going to get hurt on impact? Not God! If earth, as CS Lewis writes, is only a room in hell, then I agree with you that it should be over quickly. The idea of something better is rather appealing. I have had glimpses of it in you, and I am rather grateful for that, but I am sad now and tired. Where do whales go in the summer time? I wonder if they find cool waters to rest in somewhere. The smile of a star and the trust in an oath A voice that keeps harmony with life and growth. A sword never yielding, a well-guided bow, A heart built for joy that bears burdens of woe. A youth that is ancient, yet stays ever young, The brightest of lights and best song ever sung. Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you. -Genesis 28:15 "Ah well, it is late and I am tired. Good night, Sam" said Bilbo, and he left without another word. - posted by -g @ 10:51 PM | | 0 rocks in pond 0 Comments: |
